About Career
He loved playing cricket in his childhood. Due to his father’s low income, Rohit had to live with his grandfather and grandmother. Rohit used to play cricket in the field after finishing school. Everyone praised his batting and bowling. His uncle thought of admitting him in the academy. He took 50 rupees from himself and 50 rupees from his friend and got him admitted to the academy. Earlier he was an off-spinner. But coach Dinesh Lad asked him to change his school first to play better cricket. He asked him to take admission in Swami Vivekanand International School. He said that there are good facilities and good opportunities there. But Rohit said that he cannot afford the fees of that school. After this he got Rohit a scholarship and got him admitted. He continued playing for 4 years without any fees. Coach Dinesh Lad asked him to focus more on batting. He asked him to open the innings by promoting him from number 8. Scored centuries while opening in Harris Shield and Giles Shield school cricket. In the year 2005, he made his debut in cricket for Best John A in the Deodhar Trophy. He scored 31 runs without getting out while batting at number 8 against Central John in Gwalior. His team won by 3 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja Also made his debut in the same match. He played an inning of 142 runs without getting out against North Zone. Looking at his performance, he was selected in the Under 19s in the year 2006. In which people like Ravindra Jadeja, Pujara, Ishant Sharma and Piyush Chawla were present. He scored a lot of runs in this match. He made his first class debut for India A in the year 2006. On 23 June 2007, he made his ODI debut against Ireland. India won this match by 9 wickets. At that time, Rohit Sharma did not get the batting because Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina were also in competition for the same place. After that, Rohit had to struggle a lot to make a place in the ODI team. In the year 2007, on 18 November, Madin played against Pakistan.
