Jasprit Bumrah is a famous Indian cricketer. He was born on 6 December 1993 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. His full name is Jasprit Jasbir Singh Bumrah. His nicknames are Jassi and JB. He is 30 years old. About Career

When Bumrah was five years old, his father died due to serious illness. This was a big shock for the family. Bumrah’s mother did not understand how she would raise both the children. She showed courage and Fulfilled the needs of your family. He used to practise yorkers knowingly and unknowingly at home during the summer days. Bumrah used to practise in the Royals Academy of his school. When Bumrah used to take wickets, the other academy coaches used to make fun of Bumrah’s bowling and used to call him illegal. He never tried to change the bowling action. At the age of 14, Bumrah told his mother that he wanted to become a cricketer. His mother was worried that the boy should study, otherwise what would he do? His mother met the coach. The coach said boys. I have a lot of talent. Give this some time. Mother told Bumrah that I will give you time till graduation. After that he will have to go to Canada to join his brothers. He used to go for training before his mother woke up in the morning. He went to school before his mother reached school. Bumrah had not played any age group level cricket till now. But he played well in club cricket. At the age of 17, Ahmedabad District Board Secretary Anil Patel called Bumrah for the Under 19s trials. He had seen Bumrah bowling in the MG Science College of the city. Two members of the selectors panel had doubts on Bumrah’s bowling. But Anil sir said that the boy is bowling well. If he is not in the main squad, then at least keep him in the reserve. The team won the first three matches. In the next match, all the reserve players played. Bumrah took seven wickets in that match. He showed it to everyone. Coach Kishore Trivedi had said that never change your bowling action, this is your killer. One day he went to the showroom with his mother. There he liked Nike shoes but these shoes were beyond his budget. He told his mother that he will buy these shoes one day. Because of his good playing, he got MRF. Got selected in Pace Foundation. Bowling legend Glenn McGrath also told him that this is very unique bowling. Do not change it. He benefited a lot from the training there. Later he also practised at the National Cricket Academy. In the year 2012, he made his debut in T20 against Maharashtra. Due to his good performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he got the title of Man of the Match. Bumrah took 10 wickets in 9 matches of the tournament. His best figure came against Punjab in which he took 3 wickets for 14 runs and helped Gujarat win. Bumrah’s economy was very good but he was not getting wickets. The second match in the same Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was against Mumbai. John Wright, who was the head coach of Mumbai Indians at that time, had come to see the performance of Akshar Patel. But he became happy with Bumrah’s bowling and accuracy. However, Bumrah got only one wicket in that match. The coach of Mumbai Indians included him in the Mumbai Indians team. On 4 April 2013, at the age of 19, he made his IPL debut. Made his debut against RCB. In the first over, Kohli hit 3 fours. But in the very next over, he took the wicket of Virat Kohli. That was Bumrah’s first wicket of the IPL. Lasith Malinga in the Mumbai Indians team guided him a lot. There was a very good bond between Malinga and Bumrah. Because when Malinga started his career, he also had a very unique style of bowling. People raised a lot of questions on Malinga’s bowling. It was said that his actions will change in just 6 months. People had said 8 months to Bumrah. Bumrah learned a lot from Malinga’s experience. Due to which his learning curve changed a bit. He was getting ready for international cricket. In 2014, he got injured in the Duleep Trophy tournament. Due to which he had to undergo surgery. After the surgery, he thought that his career was over. But he focused on his fitness and made a comeback. Questions were again raised on Bumrah’s bowling action in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the year 2015-16. But Bumrah answered them with his performance. Made his ODI debut against Australia on 13 January 2016. In that match where the economy of all the bowlers was above 6. Bumrah made an economy of 4 by giving 40 in his 10 overs. In this he took 2 wickets. Two days later, on 26 January 2016, he made his T20 national debut against Australia. On his debut, he took three wickets and helped India win the match by 37 runs. In the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, he dismissed Farak Zaman. But it was a no ball. He scored a century from there and India lost that match. People trolled Bumrah a lot on social media. He made his Test debut against South Africa on 5 January 2018. In that match, Bumrah took only one wicket. But that wicket was of Abraham Benjamin de Villars. He was also clean bowled. He became the first bowler to take 150 wickets in 34 Test matches and broke Kapil Dev’s record of 150 wickets in 39 matches. He did this in February 2024.
