Education/Qualification
His school education was completed from different schools of Nidadwalu Guru Jala, Punnu Mangalagiri and Mokalpur. He completed his intermediate from C.S.R Sharma Ongole. He studied commerce from College Narasapur. He is a commerce graduate.
Career
He wanted to become an actor since childhood and was very clear about his goal. His father wanted him to do a job but he did not listen to his father. In 1976, he enrolled himself in Madras Film Institute. Learned the nuances of acting. He was good at dancing. Then he started earning a name in the film industry. He was first signed by Punadhirallu Film. He was the second lead actor of this film. However, this film could not be released on time. His second film Pranam khareedu became his debut film. He could not earn much from this film. He got his initial recognition from the film Mana Voori Pandavulu in 1978. He continued to do small roles in his 50 films. He also appeared in negative roles in the Telugu remake of I Love You and K Balachandra’s movie Our Girl. He was the lead hero of the film. It was Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth sir who did it in Tamil. Chiranjeevi did that role in Telugu.Later, he was seen in the 1982 film Subha Lekha. This film was a super hit at the box office. Later on, he gave films one after another.

His two younger sisters are Vijaya Durga and Madhavi Rao. He has two Younger brothers, Nagendra Babu and Pawan Kalyan.They have three children. In which Susmita Konidela is elder and then Ram Charan.
